Altra Federal Credit Union’s Information Technology (IT) department is looking to hire an ETL Developer, who will be able to work independently and with a team to create and maintain high performing ETL jobs for a data warehouse built in SQL Server. In this position, ETL Developers will assist the Data Warehouse Engineering team in developing strategies, policies, procedures, and standards on how the data warehouse and related architecture will be designed and maintained.

As a ETL Developer, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Assist the Data Warehouse Engineering team in the collection, grooming and completion of business and technical requirements for the data warehouse.

Support coworkers by being the expert SQL Service Integration Services (SSIS).

Create ETL processes using a combination of SQL Server, SSIS, and / or Python, as well as maintain and monitor existing ETL processes.

Facilitate ad hoc ETL requests as they arise.

Document ETL processes and data lineage, including but is not limited to: Code Comments and Change Logs, Data Dictionaries, Data Flow Diagrams (Level 0, 1, and 2 DFDs)

Work with IT to implement proof-of-concept and evaluate the value and potential use.

Keep up with the latest in ETL technologies.

Support other members of the Data Analytics team and Center of Excellence with anything SQL Service Integration Services (SSIS), and by making data available to them.

Participate in data governance projects / initiatives, as assigned.

Qualified candidates will be required to have a high school diploma, GED or HSED. An Associate’s degree in computer science is required. Additional experience in lieu of a degree may be considered. Five (5) years of experience developing SQL Server, SSIS, Visual Studio and version control is required. Strong knowledge of T-SQL, data warehousing and data integration concepts is required. Prior experience developing with Oracle, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI or Python is preferred. Must be willing and able to research new skills and technologies such as Python and / or cloud based ETL technologies. Prior experience with Credit Union or financial institutions is preferred.

In addition, candidates must have the ability to perform detailed work in an organized, self-motivated, and accurate manner to meet multiple deadlines. Must be discreet with confidential and sensitive information. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, both oral and written. Must be a creative thinker with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. Ability to complete administrative tasks, such as filing, organizing, data entry, and other general office tasks.

This position does require the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to handle stressful situations as they occur.

This position is full time, 40-hours a week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The ETL Developer position is located at the Operations Center in Onalaska, WI, however work from home / remote work opportunities can be considered for those candidates who live within Altra’s approved remote states: WI, MN, TN, TX, NJ, CO, GA, NC, MI, FL and HI.

Experience

Required
