Hours: 40 Start Date: 03/11/2024 $1962.00 weekly includes (Lodging $749.00 &Meals/Incidentals $413.00)Maxim Healthcare Staffing isseeking a Sterile Processing Technician responsible fordecontamination, assembly of linen packs, operation of steam, ETO and otherforms of sterilization. Maintains adequate inventory for assembly ofinstruments and equipment. Performs multiple tasks that assist in the dailyoperation of all units as well as being responsible for customer service. Extensive knowledge regarding processes used in the decontamination, inspection, cleaning, assembling and packaging of medical/surgical material to include, but not limited to, linen, instruments and equipment according to established standards and procedures to ensure a sterile and functioning supply of materials.

Prepare trays for designated areas according to prescribed procedures. Wrap and/or package items for specified areas according to procedures prescribed for designated areas.

Must be able to operate bar code instrument tracking systems

Work with Operating Room personnel to ensure specialty trays are handled in the prescribed manner.

Dissemble, clean, assemble and test specialty instrumentation and equipment for proper functioning.

Must be able to differentiate between single-use and reusable items.

Maintain inventory of supplies and materials to include documenting usage, issuing, receiving and reordering as assigned.

Adheres to all Maxim and worksite rules, policies and procedures

Other duties as assigned/necessary.

MinimumRequirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Certification as required by state regulations or contract specifications

Certification for sterile processing technicians by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) or the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) may be required

Two (2) years of experience in sterile processing preferred

Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

Participation and completion of Maxim's Competency program when applicable

Current CPR if applicable

TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site

Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required

Computer proficiency required

General Comments: 740519

5x8hr. PM Shift, Mon-Fri schedule is 1:30 pm– 10:00 pm

2 years of exp. as a Certified SterileProcessing Tech (HSPA or CBSPD)

Ability to work with Belimed Equipment(sterilizers and washers) and working with SPM Instrument Tracking System

Decontaminates medical supplies andequipment, assembles and wraps trays of instruments and loaners
