Period: 24 Months (Probability to extend) Shift: First Shift (6 AM 2:30 PM or 7 AM 3:30 PM) Description: Primary Position and Responsibilities

  • As a Material Flow Engineer, for the John Deere Horicon Works located in Horicon, WI, you will support the strategic alignment of material flow processes and strategies within the factory. In addition, you will:
  • Lead and facilitate projects of moderate scope including material flow, operations, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Develop processes and layouts that support lineside material presentation, conveyance methods, warehouse layouts and storage solutions that align with facility operational requirements
  • Work closely with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering and Production Planning personnel to support production processes and provide detailed analysis related to warehouse, trailers, logistics supporting factory flow optimization and capacity planning
  • Support the factory CI, 5S and Visual factory initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain labor standards to material handling performance pay plans; assist in development of baseline data for new performance pay plans.
Required Education:
  • Preferred Bachelor in mechanical engineering or similar engineering field preferred.
  • Process-oriented and a strong willingness to learn, warehousing or experience with data analytical tools.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • open to recent grads
  • Takes initiative in problem solving, recommending solutions for Continuous Improvement, and sustaining results
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably with some material flow experience.
  • Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Knowledge of SAP and Autocad
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing and incentive pay systems
