As a 1st shift CNC Manager at KLH, you will lead and oversee CNC machining operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and productivity in a complex manufacturing environment. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise in CNC programming, machining processes, and team management. You will be responsible for optimizing workflows, mentoring machinists, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to meet customer and company objectives. With access to advanced machining technology and a skilled team, you will play a critical role in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.Responsibilities:Including the following, but not limited to:Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of CNC machinists, programmers, team leads, and other staff members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.Oversee Daily Operations: Set and manage the daily operations of the CNC department for both programmers and machinists, ensuring production schedules are met efficiently and on time.Production Efficiency: Monitor and improve production workflows, focusing on reducing machine downtime, optimizing machine utilization, and increasing overall throughput.Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team, assisting with complex machining processes and staying current on new technologies and best practices in CNC operations.Collaboration: Work closely with estimating, quality control, maintenance, and upper management to align production goals, resolve issues, and implement process improvements.Performance Management: Conduct performance reviews, set clear goals for team members, and provide guidance to enhance productivity, efficiency, and skill development.Lead Major Initiatives: Drive key initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, implement new CNC technologies, and introduce process improvements to support the company’s growth and long-term goals. Lead the adoption of innovative solutions that improve quality, reduce costs, and streamline production.Recruitment & Training: Recruit, onboard, and train new team members while providing ongoing skill development and technical training for the CNC department.
