This job (Senior Sourcing Specialist) entails the collection of current market information insuring accurate and competitive pricing is provided on all quotations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides Sourcing expertise and collaborate with business and operations leaders to drive competitive pricing and process improvements.

Strategically sources products and services, discussing and recommending preferred supplier options, as well as working on strategic sourcing projects through execution.

Partners with manager on sourcing project implementations with minimal disruption to operations.

Applies strategic sourcing best practices and industry knowledge, leveraging analytics tools to pursue value generation targets.

Collaborates with operations and suppliers to optimize the procure-to-pay process and establish supplier relationships.

Assists in the day-to-day operations of the sourcing department

Collaborates with departments to provide insight on competitive pricing and quotations.

Assist with all sourcing-related functions

Regularly provides detailed status updates and communication to Supply Chain and business stakeholders.

Ensures compliance to OEM sourcing and contracting policies, procedures, risk management programs, and ethics.

Helps maintain data integrity in all systems and ensure required documentation is received and required process steps are completed.

Provides accurate and timely pricing information on all quotations.

Matches customer items with correct global suppliers.

Reviews customer item descriptions and prints to assure all details are clearly communicated with suppliers and sales.

Enters supplier prices, lead-time, deviations, etc. into a quote system and maintain all supporting documentation.

Manages the quotation and follow-up process in support of the organizational goals and customer expectations.

Grows product sales and margins by making accurate pricing decisions through strategic supplier selection, applying product knowledge and leveraging the Sourcing team’s industry experience.

Educates Inside and Outside Sales Associates on the value of pricing decisions based on the selected supplier.

Coordinates activities between Account Managers, Outside Salespeople, other functional areas of the business and Suppliers to meet organizational goals

Collaborates with Outside Sales Associates, Material Team and Account Executives to communicate necessary strategic sales approaches.

Provides Report analysis on quote performance by Customer, Business Segment and Outside Sales Associate.

Researches information on customers and develop Supplier contacts in the market on an independent basis.

Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.

Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Business, Finance, or Engineering) or two years of relevant experience required.

Minimum five years Direct OEM Fastener or Component supply chain experience required.

Ability to Read and Interpret Blueprints and Drawings required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Excellent organizational and follow up skills required.

Excellent analytical skills are required.

Have strong mathematical skills with accuracy.

Proficient and adept in Microsoft Excel.

Other Requirements:

A valid driver’s license may be required.

Position requires less than 5% of travel

Compensation starting at $50260 - $72589/ depending on experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
