We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Dispatcher to join our team. As a dispatcher, you will play a critical role in coordinating the movement of trucks, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining high standards of service for our clients.
Job Summary:
The Dispatcher will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our trucking fleet. This includes planning, coordinating, and tracking routes, managing drivers, resolving any issues that arise during transportation, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, the ability to solve problems quickly, and a deep understanding of the transportation industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and schedule truck drivers to ensure efficient route planning and timely deliveries.
Communicate with drivers to provide updates, answer questions, and address any issues or delays.
Monitor trucks in transit, ensuring that all routes are followed and deliveries are completed on time.
Maintain accurate records of driver logs, deliveries, and schedules.
Resolve any operational problems, such as delays, accidents, or mechanical issues.
Work with customers to confirm delivery schedules, handle special requests, and provide customer support.
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
Track vehicle maintenance and ensure all trucks are properly serviced.
Manage and update route schedules to optimize fuel efficiency and delivery times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant certifications in logistics or transportation
preferred.
Previous experience as a dispatcher in the trucking or logistics industry is highly preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Samsara and Rose
Rocket a definite plus.
Ability to solve problems quickly and handle stressful situations.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in an office environment with extended periods of sitting.
Occasional need to lift or move items up to 25 lbs.
