Leonard's Express, Inc. in Eau Claire, WI is seeking a Service Writer for our heavy duty, Class A diesel fleet. In this role you will work hand-in-hand with the terminal manager, shop technicians, and our drivers to continue to fuel our family operated trucking network. All job duties must be performed in a way that promotes safe practices in accordance with Leonard's established safety programs.Essential DutiesActs as the first point of contact and representative of Leonard's Express, greeting drivers in a friendly manner both in person and on the phoneProcesses driver's in-person and remote inquiries in a prompt and efficient mannerHolds responsibility as a professional liaison between drivers and shop technicians Communicates to drivers in a clear manner the nature of service needed and the estimated completion timePrepares detailed work orders for shop technicians to easily comprehend Keeps accurate records of work completedConsults with Service Manager and Service Technicians, to coordinate timely completion of workPerforms other related duties as assignedSkills and AbilitiesDisplays excellent customer service skills including proper interpersonal and telephone etiquette Displays well-developed verbal and written communication skillsPerforms with little supervision and is a motivated self-starterPossesses sound organizational, records management, and time management skillsShows attention to detail plus the ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities, meet assigned deadlines, and manage the related stressExhibits strong technical communication skills with some knowledge of Class A diesel trucks and reefer trailers Able to translate repair jargon into layman's termsProvides positive interaction with peers, leaders and internal customers Takes initiative to learn shop procedures and technical informationEducation, Experience, and Other RequirementsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)1 to 2 years related experience Proficient in Microsoft ExcelValid driver's licenseKnowledge of TMT, TTP and/or Shop Scheduler is a plus (or we can train)BenefitsStarting pay is for this position is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour or more based on experience.
