The Eau Claire City-County Health Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Public Health Nurse in the Reproductive Health/Family Planning Clinic. This position is part of our Clinical Services team which provides reproductive health services, including testing and treating diseases and infections. As a public health nurse with the clinical services team, your primary duties will be to:

Independently provide high-quality sexual health and reproductive health services under standing orders that are consistent with the Providing Quality Family Planning Services: Recommendations from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Office of Population Affairs to all clients.

Adhere to the standards set by Title X federal statutes, legislative mandates, and regulations, along with relevant Wisconsin Statutes and reporting requirements.

Provide for prevention and control of communicable disease.

Provide services on-site, at outreach events, and other community sites to protect and promote the health of the public. Coordinate and collaborate with community resource organizations to promote continuity of care.

Provide services in a manner that is client-centered, confidential, culturally and linguistically appropriate, inclusive, and trauma informed.

Complete required documentation and other reports as requested for grants, Medicaid, and computerized clinical records and time reporting.

Serving in this position, you may also:

Serve on interdisciplinary department teams planning, implementing and evaluating community activities.

Participate in quality improvement projects to improve department services and processes.

Assist with data collection, grant writing and evaluation of contract and grant programs.

Provide presentations to community and academic groups pertaining to public health nursing.

Training and Experience Required:

1. Baccalaureate degree from a college or university school of nursing which is accredited by the National League for Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or eligible to practice as a public health nurse based on qualifications identified in https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/code/admincode/dhs/110/139.pdf.

2. Current Wisconsin license to practice as a registered professional nurse.

3. Public health nursing experience preferred.

This full-time Public Health Nurse position has an hourly rate of pay starting at $32.19. We also offer an excellent benefits package consisting of health, dental, vision, and life insurance, matched contributions into a retirement fund, paid holidays, and generous vacation and personal leave.

Ability to effectively communicate the level of risk, in each situation, based on nursing judgment and technical expertise.

Public sensitivity for working with residents and organizations affected by controversial health-related issues.
