The Eau Claire City-County Health Department has an opportunity for a flexible part-time (up to half-time) Bilingual Spanish Interpreter.

As a Bilingual Interpreter, your primary duties will include:
Providing language and cultural interpretation between Health Department staff and the families we serve.
Assisting Health Department staff at clinics and home visits with medical procedures and filling out forms.
Assuring good communication at the visits on key community health and organizational issues.
Assisting Health Department staff with follow-up to encourage families to obtain appropriate community health and support services. This includes scheduling appointments and reminder phone calls.
Minimum qualifications include:
Understanding of the Spanish culture, particularly in relationship to health.
Must be fluent in the Spanish language.
Ability to accurately communicate health information.
Ability to demonstrate competence as an interpreter through standard testing.
Positive attitude toward serving the public.
This is a flexible part-time interpreter position with an hourly rate of pay starting at $16.73 dependent on qualifications.
