Join our team and start your journey today!JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE: Under the direction of the Assigned Engineering Manager, the Engineering Intern performs tasks related to the design and production of industrial compression equipment. The intern will work directly with the engineering staff to assist with product design, manufacturing and testing while gaining valuable engineering experience.RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

Participate in design reviews for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, contract requirements, and related codes and specifications.

Reviews specific designs and makes recommendations for product improvements.

Operate CAD software to design, draw or update components, parts, equipment, etc. within customer specifications, and according to company standards for quality and manufacturability.

Perform calculations required for design of compressor parts or system components.

Confer with vendors to investigate sources of special equipment, material or devices. Acquire quotes and prepare requisitions for same.

Contribute as a technical resource to the shop, customers, sales, and other departments to address and resolve questions and problems.

Participate on multi-functional teams to address new design issues and resolve problems to ensure the continuous, ongoing improvement of processes and methods.

OTHER FUNCTIONS INCLUDE : Assisting other cross-functional departments of the business as necessary.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job effectively, an individual should be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the requirements.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Enrollment in a four-year engineering degree program, preferably mechanical engineering.LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, specifications, codes and standards. Effective written and oral communication skills, including typical uses of Microsoft Office.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Understanding to calculate stress’s, system flow rates and loads using the concepts of algebra, trigonometry, geometry, physics, and strength of materials, thermodynamics, statics and dynamics to resolve technical issues.REASONING ABILITY: Must have the ability to understand and solve a wide variety of technical problems with little mentorship.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to operate 3D CAD software is preferred.Our Commitment to Our PeopleAcross the globe, we are united by a singular Purpose: Sustainability is no small ambition.
