Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob DescriptionMonitors product and production activities including plant sanitation and good manufacturing practices to ensure that the product quality and plant sanitation conform to the company standards, and take appropriate action to correct if needed. Conducts QC analyses, lab testing, and recordkeeping. Collects samples and prepares media for analysis, including coliform plate counts, standard plate counts, butterfat, DMC count, bacterial and animal drug residue screening.Responsibilities
Monitor product and production activities to ensure compliance with company standards.
Conduct QC analyses, lab testing, and maintain accurate records.
Collect samples and prepare media for analysis.
Perform analyses including coliform plate counts, standard plate counts, butterfat, DMC count, bacterial and animal drug residue screening.
Take appropriate action to correct any non-conformities in product quality or plant sanitation.
Essential Skills
Knowledge in chemistry, microbiology, and biology.
Experience with quality control and assurance practices.
Proficiency in laboratory techniques and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Ability to conduct wet chemistry and use High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).
HACCP experience is a plus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
2 or 4 year degree in the sciences or 1 year of food science, food quality, or microbiology experience.
1 year of microbiology experience (in school experience is acceptable).
Ability to read a slide and identify organisms, including testing for E.coli.
