Description We are on the lookout for a meticulous and diligent Accounting Manager to join our team in the Hi Tech Engineering industry located in Appleton, Wisconsin. The role involves supervising and managing the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of various financial processes. Responsibilities: Supervise and lead the accounting department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, payroll, general ledger, and fixed asset transactions. Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, conduct job cost research as necessary, and foster cross-departmental collaboration to promote operational excellence. Design and implement systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information. Lead the recruitment, selection, orientation, and training of accounting personnel, enforcing policies and procedures to achieve operational objectives. Conduct financial forecasting, prepare annual budgets, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions to meet financial objectives. Monitor revenue and expenses, coordinate the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data, and prepare special reports to confirm financial status. Establish a chart of accounts, define accounting policies and procedures, and maintain financial security through internal controls. Keep abreast of accounting regulations and legislation, ensuring compliance and recommending procedural improvements to avoid legal challenges. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, participate in educational opportunities, and contribute to the fulfillment of the organizational mission. Manage and supervise accounting department employees, overseeing day-to-day operations and leadership. Maintain and oversee all accounting procedures and processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP for financial statements. Record and research financial information for analysis and provide documentation and interpretation for managers and executives. Advise on financial management procedures, policy development, and oversee financial reports for stakeholders, taxes, regulatory agencies, and other financial groups. Requirements Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting Manager role or similar Proficiency in managing Accounting Functions is required Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary Familiarity with Auditing processes and procedures is essential Experience in managing Billing Functions is required Proficiency in carrying out Month End Close tasks is necessary Knowledge of Viewpoint Vista software is a plus Ability to perform Ad Hoc Financial Analysis is required Experience in Financial Reporting is necessary Familiarity with General Ledger management is essential Must be proficient in handling Payroll Taxes Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required Candidates should have excellent analytical skills and attention to detail Strong communication and leadership skills are necessary Candidates must be able to work independently and in a team setting Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices is necessary Professional certification like CMA or CPA is a plus Knowledge of accounting software and databases is essential Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
