We are looking to replace our current outstanding yard manager as he is moving on to a sales position within our small and growing company. Our current manager will do the hiring, give orientation and provide some training to our new manager. We are seeking someone that is an excellent material handler for large, heavy and long bundles of sheet metal and that can manage our outdoor material yard. Our ideal candidate must be 100% safety conscious along with superb operating skills in various types of forklifts with attachments. Good with customers, likable, friendly, able to think on their feet and have orders ready for customers upon their arrival. Must be able to handle product without damage to material or equipment and can load and unload trailers both safely and efficiently. Inventory management, tracking, processing, sorting, cutting, order fulfillment, banding and loading. If you are a hardworking individual with expert level experience in material handling in order to maximize product use and minimize waste both with time and material, can allocate tasks and lead a team in putting orders together for customers, supervise the loading of customer trailers, balancing the load so they can travel safely and knowing when something is not safe for travel and planning another day. Supervise a team in order to operate equipment safely and efficiently, managing people as a coordinated team, and can complete tasks successfully with little to no supervision, then we are interested in you. In this position, you will be responsible for tracking inventory, processing material fulfilling orders, and storing merchandise.
In addition to having excellent written and verbal communication skills, our ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate outstanding physical fitness. You will also possess in-depth knowledge of various cutting tools and equipment.
Responsibilities:
Load and unload inventory from delivery trucks, storage areas, and production areas.
Ensure all incoming products match the company purchase order.
Store cargo in designated locations using cargo boards and pallets.
Manage inventory by identifying, cataloging, sorting, processing, storing and recording the location of inventory.
Update status of inventory after each shift using production sheets.
Operate forklifts with attachments safely for load balance.
Analyze pick sheets based on clients' orders and pull the appropriate products for each order.
Track supply levels and regularly submit purchasing recommendations.
Comply with all safety and health regulations.
We work in our yard on Thursdays from 9-2, Fridays 9-2, Saturdays 8-noon
