We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance & Accounting Leader to provide strategic and operational oversight for TOMRA Food’s US and Canadian entities. This visible leadership role will manage a team of accounting professionals while fostering a high-energy, positive, and collaborative team culture.This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial data, driving the month-end close process, overseeing internal controls, and coordinating external audits, tax filings, and insurance processes. The leader will guide daily accounting operations, monitor team workflow, and serve as the go-to accounting authority for both internal stakeholders and external partners.This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership, influencing the success of TOMRA Food in North America while cultivating a motivated and results-driven finance team.Primary Job FunctionsAccounting oversight for both US and Canadian entitiesManage the daily activities of the accounting departmentImplement, monitor, and enhance accounting and internal control procedures; assure internal control complianceManage operational financial data and ensure data integrity and accuracyAudit team workflow to assure that accounting transactions are appropriately authorized, complete, and properly reflected in the accountsReview and reconcile General Ledger detail through IFS Applications; prepare and post proper adjusting journal entriesDrive periodic closing and reporting process into CognosEnsure periodic financial reporting is accurate, complete, and timelyReconcile and maintain capital asset records through IFS ApplicationsReconcile and maintain vehicle fleet lease recordsWork on special projects, including annual audit preparationCoordinate with external tax advisors regarding federal and state income tax, including issuing payments and maintaining recordsCoordinate with external insurance providers regarding corporate insurance benefits, including issuing paymentsProvide accounting system support to internal usersRespond to queries and requests from various departmentsSupport Finance Director Americas as neededExecute other duties as assignedPromote a “Safety First” culture throughout the company, our customers, and our industryFinancial and Business ManagementMeet financial targets by owning the assigned budgetDevelop and implement the business short-, medium- and long-term priorities in accordance with the business strategy, to achieve short- and long-term successAccurately plan and forecast the assigned business to include performance, resources and financesPeople Management & CommunicationManage performance, career and succession plans for direct teamDevelop a high performing & accountable team and facilitate team’s achievement of goals & objectivesDevelops productive relationships and maintain an atmosphere of trustEffectively communicates using TOMRA Values and leadership principles as the foundationFosters an environment of teamwork and collaborationPromotes a culture of feedback to ensure understanding
