Dry Gas Seal Service Technician

ResponsibilitiesStrip, inspect and assemble dry gas seals and seal cartridges in accordance with John Crane drawings and specificationsPrepare seal parts and documentation for refurbishmentCollect and inspect all incoming dry gas seal parts received from store and contractorsMaintain records of dry gas seal quality control checks as requiredCarry out refurbishment of dry gas seal disassembly and loading into test cell / jig for testingOperate and maintain the lapping, polishing, grooving, deburring, spin test, surface profile measurement and balancing machinesCarry out lapping, polishing and cleaning when necessary following the set standard processesAssist in retrieving and returning test cell parts / jigs to and from the warehouse storage locationComplete strip and inspection reportsComplete the set up and test of different types/sizes of dry gas sealsCarry out manual machining of components where requiredCarry out service order entry duties as requiredArrange and facilitate visits from internal and external stakeholders to the dry gas seal facilityCarry out wet seal related duties during down time as requiredTravel within the APAC and EMEA regions from time to time to receive training and/or attend customer visits / customer-site assignments as requiredMaintain cleanliness of all work areasActively engage in CI activities and initiativesActively engage in EHS activitiesActively engage in applying LEAN principals to improve productivityCarry out duties after hours and on weekends from time to time to ensure on time delivery of customer requirementsOther duties as required Knowledge, Skills and AttributesHighly professional presentation and demeanor as the role deals directly with external stakeholders.Personal behaviours that demonstrate adaptability, initiative, integrity and cross cultural and commercial awareness.Ability to plan, prioritise and organize work in an environment of pressure and conflicting demands.A methodical approach to work along with an ability to initiate and recommend process improvements within the team.Record of achievement of working individually and collaboratively within multi-disciplined teams.Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.An ability to foster existing business relationships by offering outstanding levels of customer service.
