I am going to be moving in a month and fortunately, my new home is in the same neighborhood and I will only need to move my things about 2 miles away. The house I am moving to came with a garage that got neglected over the last 5 years and it needs a good deep cleaning before my tools and equipment can be set up. I'm a diesel mechanic and have a a good bit of tools/tool box's (a lot of things from welders to sockets and most things in-between) plus I do some woodworking and 3D printing and have equipment and tools for those hobbies.
I would like to have people working with me asap and depending on when we make an agreement, you can start working the same day. I know typically these jobs are day shift but I am open to letting people work this project on evening too so If that is more appealing to you, let me know. ! estimate that there is a weeks worth of work to be done (5-7 days) but I do have more work that needs done too (including the move of my house which will be day shift type hours only) so if things work out well with the garage, there will be about 2 more weeks worth of work I can offer.
I need two people that can lift 50lbs without issue (not all the time, just to help move a few bigger things) to help me with all the cleanup of the garage, help me set up my tools and equipment, then help me move the things from the garage at my old house to the garage at my new house. I will be working directly with and instructing you on what tasks I need done.
There will be times where I give a list of tasks that need to be done while I am working on other things so the people that take this job must be self motivated enough to get tasks done without having someone looking over your shoulder.
You will be required to wear appropriate PPE for each task (Hard toe boots, gloves and eye protection. You must bring your own boots and I will provide all gloves and eye protection) follow instructions in the order they are given, communicate with me before making major decisions if something is not going the way I intended and last but not least, show up on time at the prearranged starting time.
On top of Daily Pay I offer (I pay fairly but pay rate will be discussed privately with each person. I offer more pay for those who have organization skills plus attention to detail and shows that with their work or experience safely setting up welders and other things that use 220v power) , there are a few other smaller perks I also provide. I pay minimum 8 hours a day regardless of how much you work under that and I pay overtime (Rate x 1.5) past 8 hours worked, paid lunch break and free lunch provided daily and unlimited Gatorade or water to drink while working (plus a red bull or two if you like them). I am also getting rid of some things I no longer want or need so the people working for me will get first dibs on those items.
The only thing I will "Demand" is whoever is working for me must show up on time. I don't have any problem if you're a few minutes late or have a legit event happen that prevents you making it on time once or twice. However, if you are the kind of person that is always more than a minute or two late for everything or does not communicate with people waiting on them when running late, this is not the job for you. Sorry for even needing to mention this as everything I said should be common sense but in my experience, its a 50/50 chance I meet someone that thinks its ok not to call when they are running more than 15 minutes late or show up 4 hours late after not answering calls/texts with some story when I try to find help online.
