Enforce WVUH policies and procedures to provide a safe, secure environment, in support of the WVUH Security Program.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. High School diploma or equivalent AND 3 years of experience in the security field ORAssociate's degree incriminal justice, criminology, forensics, law or related field of study AND 1 year experience ORBachelor's degree in criminal justice, criminology, forensics, law or related field of study AND 6 months experience in the security field.

2. Must be 21 years of age or older.

3 Must attain TASER user certification within one year.

4. Valid Driver's License is required and must be maintained during employment period.

5. Satisfactorily completion of the training requirements for an armed security officer is required.

6. Meet all ACT 235 training certification requirements including satisfactory completion of Psychological evaluation, Physical and course work within 60 days of hire. ACT 235 certification must be maintained during employment period.

7. Satisfactory completion of all departmental Lethal Weapon Training and course work required within one (1) year of hire.

8. Obtain certification in HeartSaver First Aid within 60 days of hire date.

9. Successfully pass WV DHHR Protected Services Record Check and WV CARES fingerprint-based criminal background check.CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Initiates positive customer service interaction and provides appropriate assistance to hospital patients, visitors and staff to facilitate orderly and efficient access to WVUH facilities in accordance with WVUH and departmental policies and procedures.

Maintains consistent visibility and presence at assigned locations to provide an information and directional resource for all patients, visitors and staff distributing accurate information to all who request such 100% of the time.

Responds to all patient, visitor and staff requests for information/assistance in a caring, courteous manner, 100% of the time.

Provides physical assistance, wheelchair assistance, transport services, escort services and room access patients, visitors and staff accessing WVUH facilities.
