The RN specialist will collaborate with the ER team to ensure that high-risk patients receive appropriate tests, interventions, and follow-ups. This role presents a significant opportunity for the RN specialist to proactively identify and manage sepsis cases, thereby making a substantial impact on patient outcomes. Responsibilities of the position include conducting comprehensive follow-up assessments, providing healthcare staff with sepsis identification, assessment, and management education, actively participating in sepsis care and outcome improvement initiatives, and maintaining accurate and detailed documentation in adherence to hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or compact state/multi state

2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Three (3) years of nursing experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

1. Review ER monitors through the EPIC electronic medical record system to identify patients at high risk for sepsis.

3. Collaborate with the ER team to ensure appropriate tests, interventions, and follow-ups are conducted for high-risk patients.

4. Conduct thorough follow-up assessments to monitor patient progress and ensure adherence to sepsis management plans.

5. Serve as a resource and provide education to healthcare staff on sepsis identification, assessment, and management.

6. Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to sepsis care and outcomes.

7. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
