Shepherd's Whey Creamery is a small local certified goat dairy crafting a variety of artisan goat cheeses. We are looking to fill our milking shifts. Current needs are Tuesday AM shift 6am to approx 9:30 am and Tuesday and Wednesday PM shifts - approx 5:45pm to 8:15pm. All shifts includes baby feeding until they are weaned. Experience is preferred, but will train motivated candidate. Would also consider homeschool family working together as a team. Will also consider responsible teen. Great for student who needs days free to attend classes. Must be able to be reliable and on time and observe our strict sanitary procedures to ensure clean/healthy milk and goats.
We also need an assistant cheese maker to help in the creamery making cheese, after care and prep for weekend markets. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Up to 20 hours a week. Start and Stop times are flexible, but generally 10 am to approx 4 pm.
The ideal candidate would be one who wants to take all shifts! Great Subsidized housing on the farm is available in addition to hourly wage for the right candidate who could cover both milking and 15-20 hours in the creamery.
