Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive in their education and mental health journey?headspace Casey Cardinia is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Clinician to join our dynamic School Services team. This rewarding role will see you embedded in local secondary schools, providing evidence-informed mental health support to students, families, and school staff.As part of Each’s partnership with headspace, you’ll work with neurodiverse and neurotypical young people to reduce barriers to learning and wellbeing, providing assessment, intervention, counselling, and care coordination.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct needs assessments with students to determine service suitabilityDeliver evidence-based interventions and short-term counselling for students experiencing low to moderate mental health challengesUndertake discipline-specific assessments including MSE, HEADSS, and risk assessmentsSupport teachers with classroom strategies and implementation plans tailored to individual student needsModify classroom-based activities and environments to improve student participationProvide psychoeducation and facilitate group programs within the school settingDeliver staff training focused on supporting neurodiverse students (e.g. ASD, ADHD, sensory needs)Work collaboratively with families, school wellbeing teams, and external services to ensure holistic careMaintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to data and reporting requirementsAttend regular supervision and participate in clinical reviewsAbout You

You are a compassionate, proactive mental health professional who thrives in school settings and enjoys working with adolescents and their support systems. You bring clinical knowledge, experience in neurodiversity, and a collaborative spirit.You will have:Tertiary qualifications in Psychology or Occupational Therapy (mental health accredited)Current registration with AHPRA or eligibility for professional association membershipDemonstrated experience working with adolescents, including within school settingsSkills in clinical assessments, family-inclusive practice, and evidence-based interventionExpertise in working with neurodiverse students and training school staffA current Working with Children Check, Police Check, and Driver’s License
