JOB DESCRIPTION
Job description
Shelter Monitors will be required to work with Single Adults, Families and Young Adults (18-24 years old) experiencing homelessness.
You will be responsible for shelter security, resident safety, intake of new residents as well as assisting in providing them clothing, bedding and food from the shelter supply room.
Must be able to Multi-Task
Must be able to operate a two-way radio system
Must have the ability to work with various personalities and understand the trauma some may experience from being homeless.
Shelter Monitors will work a 8 hour shift and will not exceed 40 hours a week except in extreme circumstances. Overtime is required in extreme circumstances.
Shelter Monitors must be comfortable with and have a heart for working with the homeless. Monitors will be required to interact with residents, donors and other providers in a customer service approach.'
Must demonstrate the ability to descalate situations, provide emergency first aid and be even tempered when dealing with people with traumas.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid CPR / First Aid / AED certification.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid Food Handlers Permit.

Experience:
Working Security, Shelter Monitor or Human Services: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
CPR Certification (Preferred)
Food Handler Certification (Preferred)
Driver's License (Required)
