The Trellis Center is a non-profit learning and community program for teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We’re looking for a person who is deeply committed to our mission and is energized by building relationships with people of all abilities. This position requires strong leadership skills, organization, patience, and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities:
Leading the day-to-day activities of the Active Learning Program.
Create and implement a varied program of activities focusing on independent living, recreational and community connections.
Assist with developing, implementing, and evaluating program policies, procedures, and standards
Assist with monitoring the program budget
Assist with community outreach; supervision of interns and volunteers
Assist with fundraising efforts
Create weekly/monthly schedules of planned activities. Develop program newsletters and social media postings
Assist participants with activities of daily living
Work alongside the existing managing staff in evaluating participants progress and effectiveness of programs; adjusting activities when appropriate to meet the needs of the participants
Qualifications:
Working ability to recognize and respond to problem situations according to established procedures; to carry out specifically assigned tasks; to improve the physical and mental well-being of the participants; to gain cooperation and participation of all participants
Leadership skills to guide support staff and participants to achieve the highest level of success
Strong problem-solving skills
Strong communication in both verbal and written form
Ability to communicate with others, flexibility in daily activities and job responsibilities, team player, creativeness, and a fun attitude
Bachelor’s Degree OR experience in a related field
Washington State Background clearance
Valid Driver’s License
