Summary

Do you want to be part of a growing team that is versatile and constantly improving? The Production Foreman will report directly to the Operations Director, while collaborating with shop and sales staff. Our current team of 12 would welcome an enthusiastic team player that will help our business grow. The Production Foreman will operate the Palouse Ranches production facility. The chosen individual will be continually challenged and be expected to perform at an elevated level. This individual will understand the needs of the customer, all the while considering the abilities of the shop. The selected candidate will be required to be present at our Prosser, WA location.

Job Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management: Supervise and lead a team of welders, operators, and carpenters, including assigning tasks, setting performance expectations, and providing guidance. Foster a positive and efficient work environment, motivating employees to achieve production goals.

Production Management: Oversee production schedules to ensure timely and efficient output. Monitor production processes to maintain quality standards and meet production targets. Address production issues and implement process improvements.

Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulations to minimize workplace accidents and injuries. Conduct safety training and drills to ensure a safe working environment. Investigate and report accidents or safety violations.

Quality Assurance: Monitor product quality to meet established standards and customer expectations. Conduct inspections and quality control checks. Identify and resolve quality issues or defects.

Inventory and Resource Management: Manage inventory levels and order materials and supplies as needed. Optimize resource allocation, including equipment, machinery, and labor. Minimize waste and control costs.

Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that machinery and equipment are well-maintained and in safe working condition. Schedule routine maintenance and repairs as necessary.

Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, managers, and other departments. Document production progress, issues, and resolutions. Collaborate with suppliers and logistics teams as needed.

Training and Development: Train and develop employees to enhance their skills and productivity. Identify training needs and coordinate relevant training programs.

Documentation and Reporting: Keep records of production metrics, inventory, and other relevant data. Generate regular reports for management and analyze performance.

Problem-Solving: Address production-related challenges, identify root causes, and implement solutions. Make quick and effective decisions to maintain operations.

Must be able to work 40+ hours per week. (Monday-Thursday and some Fridays).

Education, experience and skills required:

3 to 10 years of experience in steel manufacturing/fabrication.

3 plus years of related leadership experience in a production facility.

Basic computer skills.

Strong basic math skills.

Able to read blueprints and welding procedures.

High school diploma or GED required.

Language: English is required. Spanish would be an asset.

Prior construction and mechanical experience would be an asset.

Able to follow written and verbal details to complete assignments.

Possess a keen sense of attention to detail and take pride in his/her work.

Possess effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines while having a sense of urgency when needed.

Must be dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.

Work Hours:

40 to 50 hours/week.
