Join our team as a Lead Dental Assistant at Children’s Village in Yakima, WA! We're seeking a dedicated Lead Dental Assistant to support our dental providers in delivering exceptional patient care.In this role, you'll perform duties such as assisting chairside, greeting and preparing patients for treatment, managing patient medical records, conducting comprehensive X-ray procedures, setting up instruments, and performing preventative periodontal care.As a Lead in this position, you’ll also maintain the daily flow of the department, liaison between staff and supervisors, and provide training to new and existing employees.If you have a passion for dental care, want to develop your leadership skills, and are bilingual English/Spanish, this could be the role for you!Children’s Village in Yakima provides comprehensive care for children with special healthcare needs and their families. We focus on a family-centered approach to ensure individualized care for each child.Position Highlights:$20.81-$25.50 DOE with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates$4,000 sign-on bonus & $1,000 bonus at 12 months of employmentAdditional Pay for your bilingual skills100% employer-paid health insurance, including medical, dental, vision, Rx, and 24/7 telemedicineProfit sharing & 403(b) retirement plan availableGenerous PTO, 8 paid holidays, and much more!What You’ll Do:Update patient medical records, and conduct X-ray procedures, including panoramic images and intraoral photographsRecord periodontal charting and prepare instruments and equipment for Provider examsMix exam materials with awareness of infection control, perform preventative care like fluoride treatmentsMonitor nitrous oxide analgesia under Provider supervision (Only in Washington)Educate patients on oral hygiene in clinic and school-based programsAssist in patient infection control program, sterilize instruments/equipmentMay assist in Orthodontics including obtaining patient records, bite registrations, patient models, fabricating orthodontic retainers, and placing/removing ligature tiesPerform Lead duties by maintaining the daily flow of the department and acting as a liaison between line staff and the direct supervisor. Manage breaks, lunches, sick calls, and overtime. Provide insights to leaders regarding the skill level and performance of the employees. Responsible for providing training to new employees and existing staff when needed.Qualifications:High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)BLS certification within 90 daysSurgical Technologist Registration if assisting a Dentist in the operating roomDental Assistant Registration or EFDA certificationBilingual (English/Spanish) required at a level 10Basic knowledge of medical/dental terminology, dental anatomy, dental materials/instruments, infection control techniques, and oral health care instructionAbility to perform four-handed dental assisting, including instrument transfer, oral evacuation, cement mixing, and spatulationStrong level of manual dexterity and coordination.
