The City of Ellensburg Public Works & Utilities Department has a vacancy for a Finance Officer.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual to provide timely and accurate accounting and administrative support to the Public Works & Utilities Department.
Provide a variety of routine and complex analytical, technical, and administrative support to the Public Works & Utilities Department. Assist in the administration of standard operating policies and procedures of the department. Ensure financial system integrity through monitoring and analysis of a full range of accounting activities. Perform complex accounting functions following the principles of accounting and financial reporting as set forth in the State of Washington Budget, Accounting and Report system (BARS), and City policies and procedures.
This position is responsible for directly supervising office support personnel, temporary assistants, and occasional volunteers.

Salary: $6,782- $7,671/ month (FLSA Exempt) plus excellent benefits
REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or finance.
Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience similar to the duties listed above
One (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience
Please Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of some of the requirements above, as determined by Management
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a valid State driver's license, or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment
First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or ability to obtain within six (6) months
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE and/or EXPERIENCE:
Experience in governmental accounting, project accounting, budgeting, fiscal management
Experience with federal/state grant management
More than one (1) year of supervisory experience
Bilingual English/Spanish
