COMPANY OVERVIEW
Alpine Lakes High Camp is a collection of 9 backcountry ski/hike/bike cabins that are available for nightly rental year round. Located at 5,000' elevation, just 15min west of the town of Leavenworth WA, the property is tucked up alongside the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. With over 400,000 acres of peaks, lakes, ridges, trails, and rivers to explore right out your cabin door - there's no shortage of activity. In addition to the cabins, there is a community lodge, wood fired hot-tub & sauna, showers, and outhouse facilities. At this off-grid rustic resort, guests spend their time pursuing their favorite mountain activity having arrived to a fully-equipped and cozy cabin. Alpine Lakes High Camp's staff and leadership share a passion for outdoor sports, community, and the impact and importance of our treasured landscapes!
RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS
Our Mountain Transport staff are responsible for transporting guests on the private 8.5 mile road to and from High Camp. This includes driving 4wd vehicles on a rough and rocky road, and dealing with mechanical surprises as they pop up. Transport throughout the year can include mud, snow, rocks, and anything else nature decides to throw at you! During the time with guests, you'll inform them about Alpine Lakes High Camp, it's history, landscape, cabins, wildlife, etc. You'll be part tour guide, part driver, and part problem solver. Work will include loading and unloading guest's luggage/coolers in vehicles or cabins. During your shift you might also be required to assist the Mountain Host in cabin cleaning/prep, splitting kindling, or other miscellaneous High Camp project needs.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure and provide high level of guest service/experiences
Keep daily transport schedule prompt and on time
Ensure vehicle cleanliness and operational efficiency
Perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections including; check oil, transmission, coolant, power steering, tire
pressure, lights, doors, etc.
Respond to guests needs and anticipating their unstated ones
Responsible for keeping vehicle(s) fueled and stocked with necessary supplies, including recovery tools
Ensure guests are properly informed of the workings of the cabins, lodge, and facilities upon their arrival
Coordinate High Camp arrivals and departures, assisting with cabin cleaning as needed
Respond to field emergencies
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum age - 21 years old, no special license required
Knowledge of off-road vehicle operation and light maintenance
Cooperative and positive attitude
Friendly, outgoing, punctual and comfortable with a variety of people
Ability to be flexible in a quickly changing work landscape
Strong personal initiative, motivation, and resourcefulness
Personal and professional values in alignment with Alpine Lakes High Camp principles
Able to lift 50lbs or greater
Valid driver's license and clean driving record/background check
Intermediate skills with MS Office tools Word/Excel, along with Gmail and Google Drive
Current WFR and CPR certifications preferred but not required
Experience with snowmobiles preferred but not required
Passion for the outdoors and the environment are required
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This position is full or part time, hourly, non-benefited. This can be an annual or seasonal position with opportunity to grow within the company. Most weekends are required. Starting pay is $12/hr with room for growth based on experience and time with Alpine Lakes High Camp. Typical shift times are roughly 9:00am - 4pm or 12:00pm - 7pm. Overtime after 40 hours a week.
