Carpenter Foreman Needed

Position Summary: This person has 5+ years of carpentry experience. Perform rough and finish carpentry in the alteration and construction of buildings, cabinets, and specialty wood items. Consult with clients and contractors in a professional manner, assigning tasks, making sure carpentry jobs are completed in due time and ensure work is performed according to Schuchart standards. Discipline, mentor and monitor performance of employees. Support activities at all Schuchart job-sites as directed. This is a 2-year position that has 40-hour work weeks with the potential of up to 50 hours a week.

Job Duties:

Lead and actively participate in journeyman-level rough and finish carpentry across various phases of commercial construction projects.

Interpret and analyze blueprints, architectural drawings, and project specifications to plan tasks, identify material and labor needs, and ensure alignment with project goals.

Accurately estimate timelines, materials, tools, and staffing requirements to support project efficiency and cost management.

Monitor and evaluate team performance, production rates, and work progress to ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality.

Develop, implement, and adjust daily and weekly work schedules; assign tasks and manage crews to maintain optimal productivity.

Conduct thorough job hazard analyses and promote a strong safety culture by enforcing compliance with OSHA, company, and site-specific safety regulations.

Maintain clear, accurate records of job site activities, including safety documentation, daily logs, crew hours, and progress reports.

Track inventory of materials, tools, and equipment; submit timely requests for restocking or repairs to minimize delays.

Ensure all work areas remain clean, organized, and hazard-free throughout the duration of the project.

Assist with daily Quality control and help manage a punch list.

Proactively identify potential construction, safety, or scheduling issues and implement effective solutions to mitigate delays and risks.

Implement our safety program. Maintain site safety. Manage Sub safety daily and run the weekly jobsite safety meetings and then input into Pro Core.

Serve as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, project managers, and team members, fostering open communication and professionalism on the job site.

Oversee and ensure the craftsmanship, accuracy, and compliance of all carpentry work with project plans and quality standards.

Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to crew members to support professional growth and team cohesion.

Assist subcontractors who are responsible to maintain a clean jobsite.

Coordinate and facilitate regular safety, equipment, and tool training sessions to ensure all team members operate with the highest level of competence and safety awareness.

Assist in the development and implementation of project-specific safety plans.

Take on additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or Project Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

Repetitive climbing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and reaching overhead.

Use of hands and wrists with various tools.

Prolonged use of jackhammers and pavement breakers.

Climb ladders multiple times per day.

Use of wheelbarrows and brooms.

Repetitive use of hands and wrists using power, rotational, and vibration tools.

Tolerate legally permissible exposure to dusts and chemicals, such as cement dust, solvents, and other construction-related substances.

Must be able to hear commands from supervisors and back-up safety alarms on equipment.

Skills Or Experience Requirements:

Demonstrated experience working on the Boeing Campus.

Active Journeyman Carpenter license or certification.

At least 2 years of experience in a Foreman Carpenter or similar leadership role.

Have forklift experience to be able to unload materials as they arrive to the site. Then organize things like lumber, hardware etc. and subcontractor materials as well.

In-depth knowledge of both rough and finish carpentry, including tools, materials, construction methods, safety standards, and techniques for new builds and remodels.

Have knowledge of reading blueprints. And then be able to communicate with the subcontractors, and the Superintendent if a question should arise during construction.

Excellent attention to detail, strong hand-eye coordination, solid math skills, and physical endurance.

Basic computer skills and knowledge.

Capable of lifting/moving up to 75 lbs., working from ladders or lifts, and performing physical tasks in varying weather conditions.

Ability to stand, squat, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods while wearing a tool belt.

Commitment to following OSHA and Schuchart safety protocols.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outdoor weather conditions.

Physical Demands:

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation: The hourly range for this position is between $30 to $45, with a starting hourly rate of $30 for candidates with limited experience as Carpenter Foreman.
