As a Quality Assurance Supervisor in a confectionery plant, your primary responsibility is to ensure that all confectionery products meet the highest quality standards, safety regulations, and customer expectations. You will oversee the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance processes and systems throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance Systems: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. This includes establishing procedures for product testing, inspection, and documentation.
Quality Control: Oversee all aspects of quality control, including raw material inspection, in-process monitoring, and finished product evaluation. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify any deviations from quality standards and implement corrective actions as needed.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to implement process enhancements and best practices. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities, including test results, inspection reports, and corrective actions. Prepare regular reports on quality performance metrics, trends, and compliance status for management review.
Supplier Management: Work closely with suppliers to ensure the quality and consistency of raw materials and packaging components. Establish and maintain supplier quality agreements, conduct supplier audits, and address any quality issues or concerns proactively.
Training and Education: Provide training and education to production personnel on quality assurance processes, standards, and best practices. Promote a culture of quality and accountability throughout the organization.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant food safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, such as FDA guidelines, HACCP principles, and GMP requirements.
Customer Satisfaction: Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address customer feedback, complaints, and quality issues. Monitor customer satisfaction metrics and implement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer experience.
Qualifications:
Quality Assurance Supervisor, or related field for at least two years. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., SQF, HACCP, CQA) preferred.
Previous experience in quality assurance or quality control roles within the food manufacturing industry, preferably in confectionery production.
Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, food safety regulations, and industry standards.
Experience with quality management systems (QMS), document control, and statistical process control (SPC).
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced production environment."
