Caregiver positions in Adult Family Home in Leavenworth

Job Summary:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in their our adult family home serving five adult men with developmental disabilities. We currently have a 24 hour shift from 7am on Saturday to 7am on Sunday and an overnight, 9pm-8am, shift on Sundays. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care. This role requires a blend of practical skills and emotional support, ensuring that clients feel safe, comfortable, and respected in their daily activities.

Candidates that are hired will receive a $500 signing bonus and a $500 retention bonus after one year.

Duties:

Provide direct support and assistance with daily living activities, including limited hygiene assistance, and meal preparation for our available swing shifts. Overnight caregivers are responsible to monitor our residents who use CPAP machines.

Administer first aid and CPR as needed in emergency situations.

Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.

Foster positive relationships with clients through companionship and emotional support.

Overnight shifts on Friday and Sunday are awake shifts, but are relatively low activity. Overnight shift workers will receive differential pay for working an overnight shift.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in patient care or caregiving is preferred.

Position requires that the candidate has an active HCA or CNA license.

Knowledge of memory care techniques is a plus.

Certification in First Aid and CPR is necessary, although we can provide training.

Strong observational skills to monitor client health effectively.

Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, other staff and families.

A caring attitude with a passion for helping others maintain their independence at home.
