The Chelan County Public Works Office is seeking applications for a full time Chief Accountant position. This position serves as the department lead in coordinating, processing, and reporting on various accounting and administrative needs possessed by the department. This position oversees financial activities and management, designs, modifies, and maintains accounting systems to adequately track funds, performs analysis and audit of records, prepares and submits annual reports and budgets. This position works closely with other departments, outside agencies, and as a member of a high functioning administration team.
The salary range is step 2 at $5,980.08 per month up to step 8 at $7,876.15 per month. Starting salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. Employees receive a progression of steps until reaching Step 8. The position includes a state retirement system, with a deferred comp program available. Health insurance package includes Medical, Dental, and county contributions to a personal health savings account. Includes 11 paid holidays and 2 floating personal holidays along with monthly accrued vacation and sick leave.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field; four years of increasingly responsible experience in government finance, accounting, auditing, financial reporting, and budgets; OR an equivalent skillset based on a combination of education and experience in performing the duties of the position. A Washington State Driver’s License is required.
