The Leavenworth Winter Sports Club is seeking a food and beverage manager for the Ski Hill Lodge.

Status: Full-time during winter operations, half-time spring/summer/fall (approx. 1,500 hours annually)

Employment Dates: Year-round

Wage: $24-26 per hour (dependent on experience), plus tips

Work Days: Weekdays, weekends and holidays

Work Hours: Variable, daytime and evening hours

Reports To: General Manager

Description Summary

This role is focused on delivering exceptional guest service while driving financial success. The position oversees food and beverage concessions at Leavenworth Ski Hill, ensuring a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere that enhances the guest experience and generates positive financial returns for the organization. Responsibilities include managing the Ski Hill Lodge facility, operating the food and beverage concession, and providing support for events and promotions as needed.

Essential Functions

Ensure a safe and friendly guest experience.

Curate an affordable family-friendly menu.

Maximize revenues and minimize expenses while balancing quality and affordability.

Work with the General Manager to set hours of operation and scheduled closures.

Work with the General Manager to coordinate needs for events.

Schedule musicians for music nights and coordinate musician payments with the Financial Administrator.

Create music flyers, menus, and other informational posters as appropriate.

Ensure that the daily cash intake is accurate and report any inconsistencies to the Financial Administrator.

Order, receive, inventory, and manage food, beverage and consumable supplies.

Ensure half of available taps are dedicated to local breweries and cideries.

Work with the General Manager and Financial Administrator to generate and adhere to an annual operating budget.

Maintain accurate records of expenses and provide all receipts, invoices, and documents to the Financial Administrator.

Hire, train, and schedule staff to meet the needs of the operating schedule and business levels.

Verify that hours logged by Lodge staff are accurate.

Verify that Lodge staff have required certification for food handling and/or alcohol service and that all current operating permits and licenses are posted.

Operate within the requirements of the Chelan-Douglas Health Department, Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WLCB), and all pertinent public health laws.

Adhere to the rules and regulations of the LWSC/ USFS Special Use Permit.

Adhere to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) requirements applicable to food service, including maintaining current copies of all SDSs of products used.

Decorate the lodge seasonally with available supplies.

Maintain the cleanliness and security of the Ski Hill Lodge facility, including both the concession area and patio.

Keep all Lodge spaces clean and maintained, including concession, patio, public spaces, and restrooms.

Ensure that the indoor fireplace & outdoor fire pits are maintained, safe and functional.

Transport garbage, compostables and recyclables to the dumpsters at the conclusion of each operating day.

Flexibility in the work schedule is essential, as operational hours and business levels are influenced by weather conditions.

Perform other duties as requested.

Experience / Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.

Management experience in the food & beverage industry.

Great guest service skills.

Must wear job-appropriate clothing.

Command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Proficiency in cash management and transaction processing, experience with Square POS a plus.

Working knowledge of PC computers, specifically Google Sheets, Google Docs, file storage.

Pass a background check for cash handling.

High School Graduate or GED, college degree preferred.

Reliable, all-weather transportation.

Physical Requirements

Stand and / or sit for extended periods, reach, walk, bend, and stoop.

Ascend and descend stairs and navigate uneven and slippery terrain.

Able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Tolerate hot/cold temperatures at times above 95 °F or below 0 °F.

Working Conditions

Indoor and outdoor, including extreme temperatures and snow & ice in the winter months.

Noisy and fast-paced environment.
