Workers Compensation Coordinator

This will be a hybrid position based out of the Banfield Pet Hospital headquarters in Vancouver, WA. Salary Range: $16.41 - $22.56/hour (DOE)Summary and Qualifications: Assist the Workers Compensation & General Liability team in various tasks related to receiving and processing basic Workers Compensation & General Liability claim files.Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.

Maintain and record transactions and communications.

Update all Workers Compensation and General Liability claims.

Perform data entry into Workers Compensation system for Workers Compensation and General Liability claims as assigned.

Sort and distribute all incoming Workers Compensation and General Liability fax boxes.

Assist the Workers Compensation & General Liability team with claims case load from beginning to end, ensuring all claim files are correctly submitted and closed timely.

Open, scan and electronically file all incoming Workers Compensation & General Liability team mail.

Distribute monthly hospital list updates sent to vendors.

Administer the distribution of all state required insurance postings.

Manage and track all billing issues so appropriate parties have the necessary information and that invoices are paid timely.

Other job duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions:

Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.

Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.

Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.

Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.

Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.

Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.

The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.

Environment where pets are present.

Experience, Education and/or Training:

Associate’s degree in General Business is preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

One year of relevant office experience is required.

Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills are required.

Fundamental knowledge of workers compensation concepts is preferred.
