Looking for an entry level Transportation Designer who can make a quick impact on the team by supporting design projects from start to finish. Looking for a self- starter who has an interest in working on a range of project types including roadway design, intersection, gutter, drainage, storm water, fish passage, mapping, parking lot and grading design. Someone with knowledge of design codes, who can create designs, submit to QA for review and will revise based on redlines.Transportation Engineer will work on the following aspects of transportation engineering:
Project types include - roadway, intersection design, fish passage, water/sewer, storm water, gutter, traffic, transportation
Create Engineering designs for local, state, and federal highway transportation projects
Work on multiple projects ranging from roadway, intersection design, fish passage, water/sewer, storm water, gutter, traffic, transportation
Create cost estimates, execute designs, create models for roadway, intersections, grading, water and storm water
Review notes from client to create design, work with design team to provide updates, and ensure timelines are met.
Support teams in the design and delivery of roadway infrastructure projects.
Work on project sizes ranging from small projects around $75,000, medium projects $75,000 to $400,000, and large projects $400,000 to $5,000,000
Perform detailed geometric designs using CAD including laying out geometry of road, gutter, layout of road plan, review of edge of road.
Submit designs for QA to review then review redline feedback and update designs
Understand and work in compliance of code design regulations which includes calculations, reviewing and creating tables
Qualifications
Bachelors in Civil Engineering/ Transportation/Roadway
Hands on experience in transportation design including AASHTO, MUTCD, NACTO, and State DOT Manuals
Experience in roadway, intersection, fish passage, water/sewer, storm water, gutter, traffic, or transportation design
Experience working in OpenRoads, AutoCad, or Civil 3d
Preferred
ODOT/WDOT or Department of Transportation experience
Experience working with federal agencies like - FHWA, NPS, USFS, NRCS
Additional Details
9/80 work schedule. Every other Friday off
7 am - 5 pm, with some flexibility with start times
