High school graduate or equivalent.
National Swimming Pool and Spa Foundation – Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification within six (6) months of hire.
Strong knowledge of health standards and codes as they relate to water quality, facilities, and equipment in and around swimming pools.
REQUIREMENTS:

Regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position to achieve program requirements, goals, and outcomes.
Ability to clean to meet acceptable health and other environmental standards.

Ability to spend most of the work day standing, lifting, and walking.
Ability to bend and move to use scrubbing machines to clean tile and concrete in and out of the pool.
Ability to lift 1/3 of your body weight up to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders to operate the maintenance room, clean fiberglass slides and perform necessary cleaning and facility maintenance tasks.
Ability to communicate with a variety of people, in person, electronically, in writing, and over the phone or radio.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to work near water safely.
Ability to perform duties of the Certified Pool Operator as needed.
Current ISSAS (International Sanitary Supply Association Standards) district training and certification.
Must obtain confined space certification within sixty (60) days of hire.
Obtain WISHA approved first aid/CPR certification and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification within ninety (90) days of hire.
Good mechanical aptitude, with the ability to oversee or perform maintenance on mechanical equipment specific to aquatic facilities operation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Work in a flexible and cooperative manner.
Perform assigned cleaning tasks, including cleaning of rest rooms, locker/changing rooms, cafeteria, floors, carpets, walls, furniture, and white boards. Empty trash containers; refill towel, soap, and tissue dispensers. Work may require use of power tools and/or hazardous chemicals; must know how to use them safely.
Assist in operation of the pool systems in conjunction with the Certified Pool Operator.
Maintain chemicals and pool filter systems.
Comply with all applicable health codes and standards for the operation of a Water Recreation Facility in the state of Washington.
In the course of work, inspect pool facility, locker rooms and associated spaces, and equipment for safety for repairs needed. Make temporary emergency repairs and chemical adjustments.
Read and interpret standards required from the health department.
Inventory and order cleaning supplies. Anticipate future needs so that necessary supplies are always available.
Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned.
Benefits/Compensation:Salary range: New employees will start at the minimum hourly rate in the salary range. However, employees who have verified prior years of service in a similar occupational status from other Washington School Districts or Education School Districts, may receive experience credit towards salary placement.
