We offer an excellent benefits package! 3 weeks vacation 12 days sick leave 13 holidays medical dental vision life insurance LTD AD&D pension 403b catastrophic & accident ins The Program Supervisor for the Nativity House Day Shelter is responsible for the day to day oversight and operation of the Day Shelter and the Hospitality Kitchen, in accordance with the mission and policies of Catholic Community Services. The position oversees the shelter operations, supervises site staff, ensures compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements, and is accountable for sound management of resources and achievement of key performance indicators of the program.ResponsibilitiesShelter Responsibilities

Ensure the safety and security of employees and guests. Respond daily to crises for the shelter as well as the residents of the Nativity House Apartments on the day shift.

Ensure all reports are completed on a timely basis. Complete reports for all funding sources.

Ensures the completion of daily food inventory sheets and food inventory database.

Ensure security procedures and patrols are followed.

Monitor security and neighborhood needs, and revise security practices as needed to promote a safe environment and to support program and agency goals.

Ensure that staff monitor outside security cameras, provide back up to outside security as needed for responding to loitering, drug activity or other behaviors within the two-block radius.

Ensure that each guest is given an intake interview to get an understanding of their history, issues contributing to homelessness, barriers to housing, and their stage of change.

Maintain a file on each guest when applicable in accordance with the records retention policy of Catholic Community Services.

Oversees Hospitality Kitchen the day-to-day operations include coordinating the timely pick-up and delivery of food donations and/or purchases for the Hospitality Kitchen, ensure vendor/donor relations, ensuring proper storage and rotation of supplies and ensuring adequate levels of inventory, and monitoring of

Oversee and provide behavioral management by helping guests to resolve conflicts and make pro-social choices.

Oversee the Ban process and ensure that the Ban is appropriate for the situation, written timely, factual, and behaviorally descriptive.

Other duties as reasonably assigned.

Staff Supervision

Recruit, train, & schedule site staff. Conduct annual performance reviews with staff.

Supervise and coordinate schedules for Lead Shelter Program Generalist, Cooks, Shelter Program Generalist, Security, Drivers and On-call staff.

Promote ongoing training and support, and ensure attendance at all CCS mandatory trainings for site employees.

Communicate effectively with staff, setting clear and specific expectations.

Review and address workplace safety issues.

Mediate and resolve disputes consistent with agency corrective action policy.

Commit to, model and assure zero tolerance for discriminatory behavior.

Build relationships with local neighborhood and community representatives to further common goals; including monthly meetings with the TFC/St. Leo’s Campus Security Team.

Develop and ensure the safekeeping of a workplace that values and supports a culturally and ethnically diverse work environment.

Safety and Sanitation

Ensure that appropriate safety and sanitation procedures are being followed by regularly inspecting the facility for cleanliness and safety.

Coordinate with cleaning staff to ensure the following minimum standards:

Ensure that all areas of the facility (entrances, exits, parking lot, garage, courtyard, dorms, offices, etc.) are free of debris and clutter.

Ensure that walls, vents and ceilings are dust and mold free.

Ensure that floors are clean and dry.

Ensure that equipment and furniture are in proper condition for use.

System-wide collaboration

Work collaboratively with Nativity House Apartment staff, Respite Team, Overnight Shelter, Facilities & Maintenance Staff and the Mental Health Team to ensure the safety and support services for staff and guests.

Provide one-on-one support and referral to HAS Mental Health Team as needed.

Participates in departmental meetings.

Other duties as assigned.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications

A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience or 2 years’ experience in a lead capacity working with homeless individuals.

Work with diverse population including people with active mental health and chemical dependency issues

Availability to work flexible hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends).

Proof of negative TB test within past 12 months.

Ability to obtain a CPR/First Aid Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

BA in social services or related field.

Experience working with complex databases and running reports from those databases.
