We are looking for physicians who thrive in a highly collaborative environment, have a passion for resident and staff education, and have an interest in quality improvement.Virginia Mason Franciscan Health's Critical Care and Intensive Care units are fully equipped and ready to take care of our community’s most seriously ill patients as they begin their road to recovery. Our staff are specially trained to care for the most complex conditions. Patients who visit us include those who have just completed complex surgeries, such as open-heart surgery or vascular procedures, or those who have suffered multiple injuries. ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will include direct patient care and involvement in unit operations. Positions are available to work at a single site or at multiple sites. The successful candidate will have a genuine desire to be part of a collaborative, quality driven team with a commitment to providing evidence-based care to the patients we serve.
Provide hospital-based critical care, as the attending physician or as a subspecialty consultant as requested by members of the medical staff
Medical management of patients with advanced cardiopulmonary disease, including patients requiring mechanical circulatory support and ECMO, with some limited cross-coverage on cardiothoracic surgery patients
Primary admitting service for neurocritical care patients, with cross-coverage on neurointerventional patients
Supervise internal medicine house staff caring for patients on our medical, surgical and neurointensive care services
Work collaboratively with critical care advanced practice providers
12-hour night shifts with 12 shifts per month on average, 7pm-7am.
Combination of in-house and Virtual ICU duties if also Pulmonary-trained.
Qualifications
Graduate of a four-year accredited U.S. Medical School or the equivalent.
Satisfactory completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesia and fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine.
ABA or ABIM Board-Certified/Board-Eligible in Critical Care and Pulmonary Medicine
Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of WA
Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice
Authorized to work in the United States. We are not offering Visa support assistance for this position.
