Together we are empowered to make an even greater impact on the health and well-being of our communities.ResponsibilitiesVirginia Mason Franciscan Health (https://www.vmfh.org/) , a part of the Pacific Northwest Division of CommonSpirit, is actively seeking a highly motivated and skilled Certified Nurse Midwife to join our esteemed team in Tacoma, WA.Position OverviewJoin a well-established, busy, large physician and midwife women's health group located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Licensed Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our team in Tacoma, WA.Our Midwife team provides full scope midwifery care including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, GYN, annual exams, and family planning. This position is based out of our St. Joseph clinic as part of VMFH Women’s Health. Midwives manage patients for both hospital and birth center births, supportive in-house OB backup. Hospital culture is supportive of midwives and offers waterbirth, nitrous oxide, IV meds and epidurals. Low risk birth center available for pre-selected patients who desire natural birth and qualify for early discharge. Midwives practice full scope; managing labor, triage, inductions, attending births, assisting c/s, postpartum rounds, and normal newborn care.Schedule: Variable, working 4 shifts in a 7 day work week, which could include 12-hour hospital shifts and 8 hour clinic days; frequency can vary depending on call needs in the group. Typically, hospital shifts include two 12-hour shifts per week, coverage is shared with the group and a combination of day and night shift.We provide evidenced-based women's healthcare services to Tacoma and its surrounding communities. Ideal candidates would have prior experience in full scope midwifery, a passion for underserved communities and a desire to practice long term in the Tacoma location. We are seeking candidates who are hardworking, compassionate, and dedicated to providing top-level patient care. Market competitive compensation model.Hospital OverviewSt Joseph Hospital is a 375 bed, Level II Trauma Center located in Tacoma. There is 24/7 in house Laborist and Anesthesia coverage. St. Joe’s has a Level III NICU capable of caring for infants as young as 24 weeks as well as a partnership with Seattle Children’s for specialty newborn care if needed. Our group does approximately 215 deliveries per month. CNM Certification

Washington State medical license required at time of employment

DEA, NPI and prescriptive authority

Current BLS for Health Providers certification by the American Heart Association.
