DescriptionThe Purchasing Specialist position is responsible for maintaining inventories of "in-date" and properly stored medications required for patient care. This position is responsible for ordering of drug products and related supplies, management of the drug inventory, maintenance of information system drug data file, update list prices after Medispan update, handling of recalled and expired drugs, managing drug borrow/loan activities, and processing drug supply orders according to agency guidelines for cost, quality, collaborative product selection decisions, and vendor selection. When necessary, this position will perform the day-to-day Pharmacy Technician or Assistant support duties.Providence caregivers are not simply valued – they’re invaluable. Graduate of pharmacy technician school.

Computer experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate's Degree. Or equivalent educ/experience,

Coursework/Training - Coursework in purchasing, inventory control, and supply chain management.

3 years - Practical experience with ordering medications and supplies in a pharmacy setting.

Experience with purchasing and inventory control.

Computer experience with CPR+, QS1 and EPIC.
