Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cabinet Painter to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying finishes, paints, stains, and coatings to custom cabinetry, ensuring a flawless and professional finish on all pieces. You will work closely with our carpenters and other team members to deliver beautiful, high-quality products that exceed our clients' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare surfaces of cabinets, including sanding, priming, and applying base coats, paints, stains, and finishes.

Apply spray finishes or hand-painted techniques to achieve a smooth, uniform surface.

Work with various materials, including wood, MDF, and laminate, adjusting methods for each.

Ensure all work meets or exceeds quality standards, with particular attention to detail and precision.

Inspect finished cabinets for quality and consistency, ensuring the absence of imperfections such as runs, bubbles, or uneven color.

Mix and match paints, stains, and finishes to achieve custom color and texture specifications.

Maintain and clean spray equipment and other painting tools.

Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure the timely completion of projects.

Safely handle and store all chemicals and materials according to safety protocols.

Communicate effectively with supervisors to address any issues related to finishes, colors, or project timelines.

Keep a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.

Assist in other areas of the shop as needed, including prep work, sanding, or touch-ups.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in cabinet painting or finishing, with a strong understanding of different coating techniques.

Experience with spray guns, airbrush, or other professional painting equipment.

Knowledge of cabinet finishes (e.g., lacquer, polyurethane, stain, and glaze) and their application methods.

High attention to detail and a passion for producing high-quality work.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Strong time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 pounds) as needed.

Familiarity with safety protocols and handling hazardous materials.

Basic knowledge of carpentry or woodworking is a plus but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification or formal training in painting or finishing.

Experience in a custom cabinetry or woodworking shop.

Familiarity with eco-friendly or low-VOC finishes.
