Facility Maintenance Assistant

Position Summary (Purpose): The Facility Maintenance Assistant’s prime responsibility will be to perform a variety of production-related functions and activities. The incumbent must be able to complete the work in a timely and efficient manner without more than normal supervision. The Facility Maintenance Assistant will report to the Facility Maintenance Lead and performs all duties in compliance with regulations and Wm. Winkler’s safety rules.

Essential Functions:

Clean the offices, breakrooms, restrooms, and common areas at the Maintenance facility

Organize & clean work bays, outside areas, windows, vehicles, and shop equipment

Maintain areas of the shop facility not limited to include painting, repairing, constructing, etc.

Remove snow during winter around fuel island, fire hydrants and entry ways

Water the Yard during the summer to keep dust down.

Replace light bulbs, fire extinguishers, etc. When necessary

Perform daily, monthly, or annual inspections of fire extinguishers, eye wash stations etc. as directed

Retrieve all incoming shipments and offload them to their designated locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Skills, Experience and Education:

High School diploma

At least three years of related experience (preferred)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Strong problem-solving skills
