The Load Builder is responsible for accurately and efficiently assembling customer orders for delivery or pickup. This role involves selecting and staging building materials such as lumber, drywall, roofing, and other construction supplies in accordance with company standards and customer specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and thrives in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Order Fulfillment: Accurately read and interpret work orders and load sheets to gather materials for customer deliveries or pickups.
Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move and stage materials.
Load Assembly: Build and secure loads to ensure safe transport, minimizing damage and maximizing space.
Inventory Management: Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation, and restocking of materials.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and company policies, including proper use of PPE and equipment.
Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and drivers, providing assistance and answering questions as needed.
Yard Maintenance: Keep the yard clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, or construction environment is a plus.
Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 100 lbs) and work in varying weather conditions.
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Basic math and reading skills.
Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
