Job Description:

Facilitating support group for tweens (soon), teens (soon), and young adults (Friday Evening)

Will follow lesson plans provided by board/group moderator

Will accurately track attendance, obtain and maintenance contact/emergency contact information and be able to report any issues during the groups to the board immediately

Navigate conflict, find appropriate resolutions, be a listening ear while maintaining participant dignity.

Create a fun, relaxed, and safe environment appropriate for the age range of attendees

Will arrive prior to group and set up space based on lesson plan for the session and must make sure all materials/furniture are returned to proper location after session

Job Requirements:

Must have the ability to be patient

Must be open-minded, non-judgmental and understanding of the Autistic Community

Must be able to problem solve and/or work with others to problem solve

Must be able to monitor group by keeping accurate detail of who participates/enters group space

Must ensure that sign in sheet for participants and support people are accurate with everyone accounted on it.

Must be able to maintain records and report any issues that may arise

Must be a team player

Must be reliable

Must be able to pass a background check free from violent, sex, or drug related convictions as we work with minors

Must be available via phone/email to communicate with board/group moderator weekly

Must be available 15 minutes prior to and 15 minutes after group meeting to facilitate set up and tear down

Must be available every Friday between 5-7pm

Must be available for group events outside of Friday, will be planned well in advance

Ideally experience working with Autism/Special needs

Qualifications:

- Experience in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field such as BCBA

- Proven experience in group facilitation or counseling role

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment for participants

Schedule: Friday evenings required (5-7pm). Additional days or specific dates may be added as needed such as for events/outings.
