StanCraft has been handcrafting luxury wooden boats since 1933, blending timeless craftsmanship with modern innovation. We’re looking for a Topside Builder who takes pride in precision, works well in a team, and is ready to help create the finest boats on the water.

Job Summary:

The Topside Builder is responsible for constructing, assembling, and finishing all topside structures on wooden boats, including decks, cabins, and trim features. This position requires advanced woodworking skills, attention to fine detail, and a commitment to high-end craftsmanship. The Topside Builder plays a key role in delivering the exceptional quality and aesthetics that define our custom wooden boats.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Build, assemble, and install topside structures including decks, flybridges, windshields, cockpits, and cabin structures.

Cut, shape, and join wood components using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.

Apply veneers, custom inlays, and high-end wood finishes consistent with marine standards.

Interpret detailed construction drawings, blueprints, and verbal instructions from designers and foremen.

Install topside hardware and fittings such as hatches, railings, cabinetry, and trim.

Ensure precise alignment, structural integrity, and aesthetic quality in all topside construction.

Collaborate with electricians, mechanics, and hull teams to coordinate system integration within topside spaces.

Conduct finishing work including sanding, fairing, sealing, and varnishing topside components.

Perform repairs and refinishing of topside features as needed, including restoration of classic wooden vessels.

Inspect completed work for accuracy, durability, and adherence to design and safety standards.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment, caring for tools and equipment properly.

Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Performs other related duties as assigned
