Wooden City is looking for a full-time line cook. We currently have 15 excellent cooks who all make between $24-$30+ per hour including tips. Some of these cooks have been here for a few months and a few have been here since we opened 5 years ago. The way we compensate our BOH employees is through a tip pool. Tips get distributed to the BOH on a merit based system that assigns a weight of the tip pool for each cook. As you learn and grow with our team, you will increase your value which increases your weight in the tip pool. The speed of which you add value to the team is on you.
I started with the money aspect of what this job could offer you but I feel it necessary to note that short sighted folks who only want to work for this company for a paycheck generally do not work out. I am looking to continue to build a team of talented cooks who are career driven and willing to play the long game. As most of you know, working in kitchens is not an easy career path and working in this kitchen will probably be more demanding than most as far as the standard we expect out of everyone on the team everyday.
