Transitions works to end poverty and homelessness for women and children in Spokane.

Would you like to help individuals with barriers to traditional employment gain the skills and confidence necessary to achieve self-sufficiency? We currently have one part-time (30 hours/week) opening for a Program Assistant position with Transitions’ New Leaf program.

In keeping with Transitions’ mission and core values, this position supports efficient daily operations of our two vibrant downtown job training cafés. This includes ordering, inventory, delivery, direct support of program participants, and other tasks essential to the functioning of our Social Enterprise.

Work Skills

Minimum of 1 year cafe, restaurant, or retail experience.

Experience with inventory and ordering within a business environment.

High level of customer service acumen.

Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.

High attention to detail and strong organizational ability.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Attributes and Traits

Ability to be respectful, supportive, and compassionate towards all people, including those in crisis.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect privacy of others.

Familiarity with Trauma Informed Care, willingness to learn about service delivery methods and issues impacting

program participants.

Able to establish and maintain professional boundaries.

Licenses and Certifications

Possess or be able to quickly obtain a Food Handler’s Card.

Valid Driver’s License and vehicle insurance.

Ability to pass a criminal history background check.
