Puget Sound Food Hub Cooperative is a dynamic, farmer-owned cooperative, delivering fresh, local food throughout the South Sound and greater Seattle region.

Summary

- Safely and effectively driving a box truck to deliver products to customers throughout the Puget Sound region, while serving as an advocate for our farmers.

- Ensuring timely deliveries, excellent customer service, and careful handling of farmer products.

Responsibilities

- Short-haul driver capable of delivering to 20+ diverse locations per route

- Load and unload products from storage into trucks and out to end customers

- Safely complete all scheduled route responsibilities in a timely manner

- Maintain product quality and prevent damage during transport

- Verify order accuracy and confirm customer satisfaction upon delivery

- Advocate professionally for our farmer-owned cooperative and its producers

- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle before and after each route

- Complete required daily driving logs and delivery documentation

- Communicate effectively with staff regarding delivery issues or changes

- Repeatedly lift up to 50+ lbs and perform other physical activities required for delivery

- Other responsibilities as assigned

Physical Requirements

- Prolonged periods of driving a box truck

- Frequent loading/unloading of products

- Repeated lifting of 50+ lbs

- Bending, crouching, and standing as necessary for loading and delivery tasks

- Exposure to varying weather conditions during deliveries

- Safety-conscious and detail-oriented

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic delivery environments

Required Qualifications

- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

- Minimum 2 years of experience driving box trucks or similar vehicles

- Ability to operate route management and GPS navigation apps

- Basic understanding of vehicle safety and maintenance inspections

- Strong communication and documentation skills

Desired Qualifications

- Previous delivery experience within food systems, agriculture, or cooperative models

- Knowledge of safe food handling procedures

- Forklift certification or experience with loading equipment (a plus)

Environmental Factors

- Work is primarily conducted inside a delivery vehicle, at customer locations, and at warehouse/loading docks

- Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions (rain, snow, heat)

- Moderate to high noise environments at delivery locations and warehouses

Schedule

- Full-time, non-exempt

- 3-4 days per week, Saturday availability required

- 4am start time, 8-10+ hour shifts

- Some flexibility required based on delivery needs

Location

- Mount Vernon, WA

Compensation

- $23-25 per hour
