We are seeking a motivated Survey Chainman to join our team in our Freeland, WA office on Whidbey Island. While prior experience is not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates with a few years of experience in a similar role and a keen interest in building a career in land surveying.
Responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to:
Assist the Chief Surveyor both in the field and office, performing chainman duties
Conduct field surveys, including setting up and operating survey equipment
Provide various support for various tasks as assigned by the Chief Surveyor
Work under the supervision of licensed Surveyors to support land development and land surveying projects
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED required
Valid Driver’s License and insurable
Ability to work in outdoor environments in all types of weather on a daily basis and handle physical tasks related to
land surveying such as hiking, lifting and carrying equipment
Strong communication, and teamwork skills (Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing)
Willingness to learn and adapt to various field conditions, tasks and the general public
Consistent punctuality, dependability and professionalism
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to relocate before starting work

Actual pay based upon prior experience and strength of resume
Expected hours: 7:30am – 3:30pm, 40 hours per week, Mon – Friday (the rare weekend as needed)
