Maintenance Helper
Are you a motivated individual with an attention to detail with a can do attitude? We are looking for part to full time maintenance helper for our two boutique hotels located in La Conner.
Qualifications
Education/Experience: Must be at least 18 years of age.
Requirements: Proven ability to work independently. Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English a must. Strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with other departments, guests and vendors. Ability to diplomatically handle difficult situations and people. Basic computer skills, facility maintenance skills, knowledge of proper chemical handling, heavy on painting skills, some plumbing and small appliance repair skills. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, report or schedule form. Able to work with little or no supervision. Ability to solve base mathematical problems, use a tape measure and understand liquid and weighted volumes. Need to be outgoing, influential, and results-oriented. Understand the importance of and embraces diversity in the workplace. Willing to train the right person.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to see well enough to read reports and complete maintenance tasks. Must be able to hear well enough to communicate on the phone and in person. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to walk around properties.Must be able to climb flights of stairs and climb/stand on a ladder. Must be able to stoop and kneel for short periods of time.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Service Responsibilities:
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with guests, co-workers and Management.
Know Hotel emergency procedures and where all emergency shut-offs are located. Assist hotel guests when necessary in case of an emergency. Perform special projects in an allotted time set for each project.
Hotel Maintenance:
Help with maintenance on all hotel equipment as requested by housekeeping, guests and Management. Minor plumbing, painting, furniture repair/replacement, etc.
Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and Holidays. Some on call may be necessary depending on business needs.
