We are looking for an experienced Optician or optical assistant to train for our small but busy private practice eyecare officeValley Vision & Optical in Mount Vernon. This position deals with eyeglass prescriptions and helps patients select frames and the right lens products to improve their quality of life. It also includes insurance billing, contact lens education for patients, frame inventory, among other things. We are looking for a strong candidate who is organized, positive, and has a genuine love for people.
Preference is given to experienced Opticians but can train the right candidate; we fully encourage and support further education including optician apprenticeship, ABO certification and state licensing. Any previous experience with eye care and customer service is a plus.
