Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker/Pet Sitter to join our team. This role is perfect for individuals who love animals and enjoy spending time outdoors. As a Dog Walker/Pet Sitter, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and exercise for animals while ensuring their safety and well-being. Your commitment to animal welfare and ability to handle various breeds will be essential in creating a positive experience for both the pets and their owners.

Duties

Walk dogs in various weather conditions, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and stimulation.

Maintain control of animals at all times, using proper handling techniques to ensure safety.

Monitor the behavior of dogs during walks/playtime, addressing any issues that may arise.

Provide basic care such as feeding, administering medication, or care as needed.

Communicate with pet owners regarding their animal's behavior and any concerns during visits.

Keep accurate records of each walk, including duration, distance, and any notable events via company app.

Ensure all equipment used (leashes, harnesses) is safe and in good condition.

Assist with additional pet care tasks such as pet sitting or kennel duties when required.

Additional animal care options may include other types of pets/animals such as goats, bunnies, tortoises, pocket pets, cats, fish, etc.

Future development options include overnight care, additional training opportunities, etc. Willing to discuss ideas with the right applicant.

Skills suggested but not required:

Strong dog handling skills with experience in managing various breeds and temperaments.

Knowledge of animal behavior and training techniques is a plus.

Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant can enhance your ability to provide care.

Familiarity with animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during walks.

Ability to perform heavy lifting when required, such as assisting larger dogs or carrying supplies.

Previous experience in pet sitting or working in animal centric environment is advantageous.

Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and provide updates on their pets.

A genuine love for animals combined with a responsible attitude towards their care.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Internship

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
